Melodie Kent is a native Houstonian and the youngest of five children. After graduating from high school with honors, Melodie attended Lehigh University where she received a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a focus in Biology.
Melodie works as an IT consultant with IBM. Although she is always on the go, Melodie still finds time to mentor youth in different states by regularly exchanging text messages with them on whatever they need to talk about, be it homework or personal issues. Melodie works closely with various organizations, including Mademoiselle Alumnae, GOHSEP (Graduate Organization for High School of Engineering Professions), BTWAA (Booker T. Washington Alumni Association), and IBM Recruitment Team (Diversity Recruitment Leader), to further her goal of giving back to the community and strengthening the educational pipeline. She enjoys spending time with family and friends. One of her personal goals is to build a school called H.O.P.E. (Helping Others Pursue Education) Christian Academy by 2025.
